여호수아의 음악 2 : 여리고 성의 나팔 소리 2(The trumpets of Jericho Castle 2)

    "이에 백성은 외치고 제사장들은 나팔을 불매 백성이 나팔 소리를 들을 때에 크게 소리 질러 외치니 성벽이 무너져 내린지라 백성이 각기 앞으로 나아가 그 성에 들어가서 그 성을 점령하고"(여호수아 6장 20절)

    마지막 날 한 소리로 크게 외치기 전까지 이스라엘은 7일 동안 잠잠히 제사장들의 나팔 소리만 듣고 행진했습니다. 적에게 완전히 노출된 그들에게 제사장이 부는 일곱 나팔 소리는 하나님이 함께 하신다는 사실을 나타내고 있습니다. 하나님께서 이스라엘 백성에게 원하셨던 것은 '내가 너희와 함께 한다'는 것에 대한 믿음이었습니다. 하나님의 전쟁 방법은 세상적인 방법이 아니라 신앙의 방법이었습니다.

    이 사건은 세상에 대한 하나님 백성들의 승리의 모형이 됩니다. 하나님 방법으로 이 세상에서 승리할 수 있는 비결은 상황과 물질에서 눈을 떼어 하나님의 말씀에 전적으로 나 자신을 맡기는 것입니다. 견고한 여리고 성을 무너뜨린 그 힘은 무엇입니까? 그 나팔 소리에 어떤 마술적 힘이 있는 것은 아닙니다. 신앙생활은 마술적 생활이 아니라 하나님의 전능하신 능력을 의지하는 것입니다.

    여리고 성 안의 사람들은 견고하기로 이름난 그들의 성벽을 굳게 믿고 의지했습니다. 문을 굳게 닫고 공격에 완전히 노출된 채 묵묵히 성을 돌고 있는 이스라엘 백성들에게 화살 한 번 제대로 사용해 보지 못하고 그들의 무너질 것 같지 않은 튼튼한 성만을 의지했습니다.

    그러나 그것은 잘못된 믿음이었습니다. 제사장들이 나팔을 불고 백성들이 크게 소리를 지를 때에 성벽은 여지없이 무너져 내렸습니다. 믿음의 나팔 소리에 그들이 그토록 굳게 믿었던 여리고 성이 무너진 것입니다. 잘못된 신앙이 바른 신앙에 의해 무너진 것입니다.

    나팔 소리는 하나님께 드려지는 힘찬 찬송을 의미했고 이 찬송 가운데 하나님이 함께 하셨습니다. 하나님이 함께 하신다면 그 방법은 우리가 이해할 수 없다 할지라도 마지막 승리는 자명한 것입니다. 우리의 찬송은, 하나님께서 원하시는 찬송은 바로 나팔 소리와 같은 찬송입니다. 하나님이 살아계셔서 지금 우리와 함께 하신다는 것을 선포하는 찬양이어야 합니다. 이 찬양이 울려 퍼질 때 내 마음 가운데 자리 잡고 있는 육신적이고 세상적인 여리고 성은 마침내 무너질 것입니다.

    For seven days Israel marched quietly, listening only to the trumpets of the priests, before shouting out loud on the last day. The sound of the seven trumpets sung by the priest to them, who are completely exposed to the enemy, indicates that God is with them. What God wanted from the people of Israel was the belief that "I am with you." God's method of war was not a universal method, but a method of faith.

    This event serves as a model for God's people's victory over the world. The secret to winning this world by God's means is to take your eyes off the situation and the matter and leave yourself entirely to God's word. What is the power that brought down the solid Jericho castle? There is no magic power in the sound of the bugle. The life of faith is not a magical life, but a dependence on God's almighty power.

    The people in Jericho Castle firmly believed and relied on their walls, which were famous for their solidity. I relied on the Israelites, who closed the doors tightly and silently circled the castle, completely exposed to the attack, not to use an arrow properly, but only on their strong, unlikely castle.

    But it was a false belief. When the priests blew the trumpets and the people shouted loudly, the walls collapsed. At the sound of the trumpets of faith, the Jericho Castle, which they believed so firmly, collapsed. The wrong faith is broken by the right faith.

    The sound of the trumpets meant a powerful hymn to God, and among these hymns, God was with them. If God is with us, the last victory is self-evident, even if we can't understand the way. Our hymns, which God wants, are the same hymns as trumpets. It should be a praise that declares that God is alive and is with us now. When this praise reverberates, the physical and worldly Jericho Castle, which sits in the middle of my heart, will finally collapse.
